Trainings

During the inception phase the consortium agreed on a selection of trainings, to be conducted during the project. Input from the Beneficiaries was crucial to selecting the times, locations and topics for the training courses.

 

Team Management Course (TMC)

The TMC is a 5 day training composed of lectures as well as an exercise element. The aim of this course is to train team management to better integrate their teams into cross border, regional and European as well as international disaster response operations. It is also expected that the training will serve as a value added for the national response capabilities

To train team management to be integrated in National and regional response operations as well as European and international response operations and to better prepare them for national response operations

Staff Course (SC)

The SC is a 5 day training composed of lectures as well as an exercise element. The objective of this course is to train experts occupying staff functions at all levels in information management, staff cooperation.

Organisational Management Training (OMT) and Advanced Training (ADT) follow up

The OMT and ADT follow ups are two 3 day lecture courses intended as a refresher for participants that have attended previous IPA CP Project courses. Experts possessing previous experience with Union Mechanism courses will also benefit from this training. The recent Mechanism updates and the refreshing of previously obtained skills will be the focus of the training.

Exchange of Experts

During the Exchange of Experts program, CP experts from the beneficiary countries will have the opportunity to visit CP relevant centers and installations in the consortium partner countries in order to improve cooperation between agencies in the field of CP as well as furthering capacity building and increase compliance with EU requirements and standards. THW will act as a host for multiple Experts throughout the duration of the program

 

Main objectives of component
  • Capacity building by comparing of different institutional and other approaches in relevant areas
  • Increased compliance with EU requirements and practises
  • Strengthening of regional network/s and interoperability in the field of Civil Protection.

Component II

  • Capacity-raising through exercises
2.1 Field Exercises
  • Two field exercises preceded by planning meetings, preparedness sessions and table-top exercises. Participation of intervention teams coming from at least three Beneficiaries and two Participating States of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
2.2 Observers
  • Participation of observers from Beneficiaries in the Union Civil Protection Mechanism exercises.

Component III

  • Capacity-raising through TTX on HNS, workshops and provision of technical support
3.1 Table top Exercises
  • One table-top exercise in each beneficiary country with a focus on host nation support (HNS). The exercises will involve representatives from national institutions relevant for the provision of HNS (7 HNS table-top exercises in total)
3.2 Workshops
  • Two policy workshops on topics relevant to disaster prevention, preparedness and response at EU or regional level.
3.3 Technical Support
  • The provision of technical support if requested on development of standard operational procedures, legislation etc.
